Recycling in Salt Lake County

Murray

Curbside recycling is available to residences of Murray City garbage service areas. A 90-gallon, green automated container is provided for this purpose. The automated recycling container, like the black automated refuse container, is Murray City's property.

Each automated container must remain at the property to which it is assigned and should not be moved or relocated to any other location without the City's prior written approval. Damage to any automated container caused by the property owner shall be paid for by the property owner. The City will repair or replace inoperable containers as a result of normal use.

Pick up of the green automated recycling container will occur every other regularly scheduled garbage pick up day. The green automated recycling container should be placed adjacent to the driveway, within (2) two feet of the curb, at least (1) one foot from obstructions such as lamp posts and fences, at least (10) ten feet from mail boxes and at least (4) four feet from black automated refuse containers.
As usual the containers out to the curb by 7 am.

Property owners should place all recyclable material to be collected within the green automated recycling container. Only those items listed below will be accepted. All non-recyclable refuse shall be placed in the black automated refuse containers.
